Wee Ski FAQ
What are the ages for Wee Ski?
Skiing - 3 years old
Can my children be with their friends?
Yes, if they are participating in the Wee Ski Program.
My children have their own equipment. Do they get a discount?
No. The lift ticket, lesson, and rentals are an all-inclusive package. A lesson only is available if you have a season’s pass or have purchased a multi-day lift ticket and will only be in Kid’s Camp one day.
Can I make a reservation for Wee Ski?
Yes, reservations are required a minimum of 48 hours in advance. Space is limited due to smaller class size. You may request a lesson here.
Can I pre-register for Wee Ski?
Yes. You can pre-register and pay for Wee Ski the day before from 3:00 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. By pre-registering you can avoid any lines the next day.
Will my 3 year old ride the chairlift?
No, the Wee Ski Program’s intent is to get children used to ski boots, gliding on the snow, learning how to stop, and having fun on the snow.
Does the Wee Ski Program include lunch?
Yes, the registration fee includes lunch. We provide kid friendly food, but please let us know if your child has any food allergies, aversions, or special requests (i.e. vegetarian or kosher).
Can I eat lunch with my child?
No. You may check on your child or sign them out for lunch, but due to the number of children in Daycare, you may not eat in Daycare with your child.
How will I be contacted if my child becomes ill or injured?
If you are on the mountain, at the base of each lift is a chalkboard. We will place a chalkboard message asking you to contact or return to Kid’s Camp. We will also attempt to contact you via the telephone number listed on the release form.
Can I attend or watch my child’s class?
Children will pay more attention to their parents than the instructor, so we encourage you to enjoy your time on the mountain.
Do we receive a discount if we purchase multiple days in Wee Ski?
Yes, but please be aware that a multi-day purchase is non-refundable.
Where does my child store his/her shoes?
Wee Ski has cubbies for each child, but space is limited.
Is there a lost and found?
Yes. Please see the Kid’s Camp Agent and describe the lost item.
When does Kid’s Camp open in the morning?
Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. during the week and weekends. During holiday periods, registration begins at 8:15 a.m. You may register your child and then return at 9:30 to check them into their class.
When does registration end?
Registration ends at 10:00 a.m. and children must be signed in at this time. Children are on-snow at 11:00 a.m. for their lessons.
When do I pick-up my child?
Lessons end at 3:30 p.m. Please be prompt in picking up your child. If they are still in our care after 3:45 p.m., they will be placed in daycare and you will be charged for those services. You may sign a release stating the children are free to move about the mountain on their own after 3:30 p.m. They may not “hang out” in Kid’s Camp.
How long are the lessons in Wee Ski?
The best scenario is 1 hour in the morning and again in the afternoon, but weather may decrease on snow time for the 3 year olds.
Is there a discount for multiple children?
Yes. You may purchase a Kid’s Camp Mini-Pass. You receive 10 vouchers for Kid’s Camp, which can be used for a child (or children) anytime throughout the season.
What is the cost of the Kid’s Camp Mini-Pass?
The cost is $830 for the 10 passes. You save $10 per pass.
What are the student/instructor ratios?
Wee Ski 3 year olds 2:1
Please note that these are general guidelines.
How do I know if my child is ready to learn to ski?
If a child is potty trained and can ride a tricycle – they are physically ready to ski!
If my child has never skied before, what should I expect the first day?
A first-time skier may or may not learn to stop the first day. We consider it a great success if they learn to stand and glide on their skis!
Where is Kid’s Camp located?
Kid’s Camp is in the Navajo Lodge Learning Center at Brian Head. We are located “upstairs” with the cafeteria and retail shop.
Can I rent snow apparel?
Not at Brian Head Resort. You may purchase it at High Mountain Outfitters. Georg’s and Brian Head Sports do rent snow apparel.
Recommendations:
Layered Clothing
One pair of socks (nylon on warm days, “ski” on cold)
Sunglasses or Goggles (always one or the other)
Sunblock
Chapstick
Will my child still be able to take his/her medication?
Yes, on the release form it asks for any medications and dosages. Our staff will be aware of the child’s needs, although we can not administer the medication; parents are welcome to come and attend to your child’s medication needs as warranted.
If your child is asthmatic, even if it is allergy related, please bring their inhaler and/or medication. The difference in elevation and exertion of energy may trigger an asthma attack. Make sure that your child has their inhaler in their pocket.
How do I reach Kid’s Camp if I have additional questions or would like to make a reservation?
You may e-mail us at skischool@brianhead.com, call us at 435-677-2047, or you may request a lesson here. Please allow 1-2 days for a response.
