Brian Head Resort Ski Team
Beginning over 20 years ago, the Brian Head Ski Team has been helping young athletes from all over the Southwest with the exciting sport of ski racing. With kids and families coming from Southern Utah, Southern Nevada and Southern California, the team is made up of some very dedicated athletes and families.
Many of the parents initially get their kids involved with the team to improve their skiing abilities, team building, camaraderie, friendships and social skills. Being a part of this team ends up being more life lessons for these developing young athletes.
The Brian Head Ski Team trains almost every weekend and holiday with a dedicated group of coaches and parents. The team is lead through drills, exercises and gate training. Let’s not forget about the FUN factor however, and ski racing is big FUN! The kids love it, the parents love it, and Brian Head Resort is proud to have these young athletes sporting the Brian Head name.
The team travels to many United States Ski and Snowboard Association sanctioned Youth Ski League level races at various resorts around Northern Utah. Brian Head Resort hosts the largest and final race event of the year every March with the Youth Ski League Championships invading the Town for a full weekend of racing, parties and team pride.
The Brian Head Ski Team kids and parents also participate locally in Brian Head Resort’s NASTAR race program. With age and gender divisions from 4 to 90, everyone has a blast racing and comparing themselves with the US Ski Team and others of similar ages across the country. The ultimate goal of qualifying for the NASTAR National Championships is the driving motivator in this grass roots ski racing organization. The Brian Head Ski Team racers have always represented well with many National Championship medals brought back to Brian Head.
