Champagne Powder for New Year’s Eve
Posted by Mike & Julie Saemisch on January 6, 2013
If you are reading this, the world must not have come to end as some predicted. So, we can celebrate another great year of living in Brian Head! And what a day to end the year. The storm pattern has broken, but not before leaving a final 4" of champagne powder under cobalt blue skies.
Skiing the fresh powder on top of the ample amount of powder we have received in the last couple weeks made for a fine champagne brunch to end this year and celebrate the new year. Mike rode up with several pairs of skiers and riders who were loving the day and our holiday "crowds". All were having a fabulous time.
After enjoying the fine turns and sunshine (and a little fireplace time), it was time to bundle up and watch the great show the resort puts on each new year’s eve. The temperatures were chilly so it must have been extra thrilling to carry a torch down the mountain at dusk. As usual, the torchlight parade and fireworks under skies that had just cleared were an awesome sight and sound. Happy new year and see you on the slopes in 2013!
