Bald Eagle Release

A couple of weeks ago that Southwest Wildlife Foundation rescued a large female bald eagle that was struck by a car and suffering from a concussion and minor beak damage. This beautiful young bald eagle has regained her strength and is ready to be returned to the wild. This will be a great opportunity for everyone to see an immature bald eagle (does not have the white head or white tail yet) as she soars off the top of the mountain near the Brian Head Ski resort.

This Saturday, January 28th at 2:00 in the afternoon the Bald Eagle will take flight.  As always Southwest Wildlife Foundation's eagle releases are free to the public so bring your friends and family.

The directions for the eagle release are as follows:  from Parowan take SR 143 to the Town of Brian Head, continue past the main Resort base area on your left called Giant Steps, continue south under the skier bridge, just before Georg’s ski shop, approx. 300 yards past the bridge turn right into the road to the Bear Flat campground. Overflow parking is available across the road in the Town of Brian Head’s maintenance yard. You will need to walk approximately 100 yards across the snow to the release site. The snow will be compacted but winter boots are recommended.

**There will be shuttles leaving the bottom of Chair 1 at 1:30 pm taking people to the site.
