Reservations Required

To guarantee your lesson, reservations are required at least 48 hour in advance. Reservations cancelled at least 48 (forty eight) hours prior to the lesson start date will be eligible for reschedule or a full refund. Reservations cancelled less than 48 (forty eight) hours prior to the lesson start date, or no call/no shows, are not eligible for a refund or reschedule. No refunds will be issued due to inclement weather or driving conditions, or for late arrivals. Walk-in lessons are based on availability and not guaranteed. If you have any questions or need to make changes to your reservations, please call us at (435) 677-2035.

Why Take a Lesson?

The best way to improve your skills on the slopes or in the terrain park is to take a Private Lesson with one of our skilled ski or snowboard instructors. Private Lessons are available for children and adults in 2 to 6 hour sessions. The Brian Head Winter Sports School has helped thousands of students learn how to have fun on the snow. Private lessons are available for all ages!

Due to the popularity of our Winter Sports School, reservations are highly recommended, and are required during Holiday Periods. All Winter Sports School prices listed herein are with a minimum of 5 days advance reservations. Add 5% with less than 5 days advance reservations, and 15% with less than 24 hours or no advance reservations. Prices do not include applicable sales tax. We are not able to accommodate late arrivals.

-All private lessons begin at 10:00AM and 1:30PM ONLY

Riding Ability

Private lessons are tailored specifically for the ability level of the participating guest. In other words, you and your designated ski/snowboard instructor can work together to best identify what your ability level is, and we’ll modify our teaching accordingly.

Never Ever
  • First time – never been before/not confident at all.
  • Has been before but not ready to load the chair lift.
  • Requires a first time lesson refresher.
Beginner
  • Green runs remain a bit of a challenge.
  • Prefers a slower pace.
  • Able to put ski/snowboard on/off with little or no help.
  • Can load the chair lift.
  • Knows how to stop on demand and make some turns.
  • Have been before for 1-3 days or haven’t been for a long time.
Intermediate
  • Very confident on Green Runs.
  • Can control speed and link turns.
  • Able to take ski/snowboard on/off freely.
  • Able to stand up alone after a fall.
  • Blue runs can be challenging.
Advanced
  • Very comfortable on Blues.
  • Lessons take place at Giant Steps Lodge.
