As fall is coming up fast, we’ve been putting in the work to make sure we’re all set for winter. How can we make things better for you? Let’s start by talking about lift upkeep.
Lift Safety Upkeep
Mountain Operations: Each year we have our lift lines inspected to make sure they meet all safety requirements. This year was time to switch out our cables to keep the chair lift stable. Our mountain operations team diligently equips themselves with gloves, harnesses, and operates telehandler (a versatile machine that lifts, moves, and positions heavy materials) to efficiently and safely complete this big task.
A Day For Safety Training: Our team is well-prepared for unexpected situations. We have a dedicated training day to address different scenarios, ensuring our team is ready for challenges while working on towers. Safety harnesses and understanding their use are vital for our mountain operations team. Offering necessary protection during tasks like reattaching cables to lift towers.
All hands on deck: While installing the new cable for our lift lines, cable splicing is a crucial step. This technique involves tightly wrapping new cables together to form a single robust cable line. Our cohesive team of patrollers, lift operators, mountain operators, and safety managers effectively collaborated to complete this task for one of our high-speed quad lifts, Giant Steps Express.
