Brian Head Resort Extends the 23:24 Winter Season | Open Through May 5th

Bluebird Powder Day in March spring Skiing

Freedom To Ski – into May!

We are thrilled to announce we will be extending the 2023/24 winter season, adding three extra weeks! Previously scheduled to close on April 14, Brian Head will be open through Sunday, May 5, adding 23 more skiable days to the season. We’re optimistic about the chance to keep the resort open beyond May 5th to provide the freedom to ski.

We’ll be open daily with lifts spinning as long as conditions allow. Open terrain will be updated daily via the conditions report. Any operational updates such as night skiing, tubing, and more will be shared via newsletter as we enter warmer conditions later this spring. Subscribe to our newsletter to be the first to know about operational updates.

Season Extention Events & Happenings

We’re elevating the spring vibes with extra events, patio vendors, theme days, and more from April 14th through Cinco de Mayo. Keep tabs on our spring happenings through our events calendar & social media channels for weekly updates. Additionally, the Giant Steps patio will transform into a snow beach on weekends, offering aprés activities, “beach” volleyball, refreshing drinks, and DJs to add to the spring atmosphere.

Why Spring Skiing Is Top-Tier

The snow conditions remain excellent and the atmosphere is filled with positive energy. It’s a time to soak in the sunshine, grab more affordable lift tickets, and simply enjoy the experience. For the more adventurous, it’s the season for wearing t-shirts and bibs, and sporting goggle tans become high fashion. Here are a couple of reasons why spring skiing stands out as a top-tier experience.

  • Low Lift Ticket Prices: You can score lift tickets as low as $19.
  • Warmer Temperatures: Spring skiing often brings milder and more comfortable temperatures compared to the colder winter months. Bring the sunscreen and skip the layers. 🦩
  • Longer Days: Longer days mean more time for fun. With the arrival of spring, days become longer, providing more daylight hours for skiing and even multisport days here in Southern Utah where the mountains tower over the desert.
  • Sunshine and Blue Skies: Spring typically brings clearer skies and more sunshine, creating a visually expansive view below and a positive atmosphere on the slopes.
  • Softened Snow: As the temperature rises during the day and cools down at night, the snow tends to soften. This can result in more forgiving and enjoyable skiing conditions, especially for those who appreciate smoother and less icy surfaces.
  • Après Ski Atmosphere: Spring skiing comes with a festive atmosphere, special events, patio aprés, live music, and outdoor activities.

Multi-Sport Season Is Coming: Ski Today, Bike Tomorrow

In spring, we enter the shoulder season—too cool for camping and lakeside activities, yet just warm enough to retain ample snow at our 9,600′ base elevation. En route to your warmer camping destination, Brian Head is a convenient 20-minute stop off the highway. Enjoy skiing for as low as $19 one day, then seamlessly transition to biking or climbing in the desert the next!

More 23:24 Season Memories To Come

There’s plenty of winter remaining before temperatures rise. We have the potential to receive more snow, providing ample opportunities for additional powder days before the need for sunscreen kicks in. Until then, enjoy the snowfall before we lace up the boots and break out the Hawaiian T’s. Here’s to all the memories still to come!

Cheers,
Brian Head Resort
