2026/27 Snowmaking Upgrades
There is nothing quite like watching the first snow of the season fall in Southern Utah, but long before the lifts start spinning, our mountain operations team is already working to kick off winter with the strongest start possible.
This summer, we are continuing to double down with more upgrades to the snowmaking system. The goal is to make more snow when temperatures allow, open more terrain earlier, and give skiers and snowboarders like you, more opportunities to get back on the mountain.

What This Means for You
Early-season snowmaking comes down to making the most of every cold-weather window.
With a stronger snowmaking system in place, our team will be able to move more water across the resort to Navajo Mountain and make snow more efficiently. That can mean a more consistent base, more terrain opening sooner, and more options when you are ready to take your first laps of the season.
Natural snowfall will always play a huge role in winter at Brian Head, but this project gives our team more tools to get the mountain ready while we wait for Mother Nature to do her part.

A Closer Look at the Project
The new pipeline will be capable of moving up to four times more water to the Navajo side of the resort, essentially doubling Navajo’s snowmaking capacity.
That increased capacity will allow us to take better advantage of cold temperatures and make snow across more of the mountain at once. Instead of spending as much time building coverage in a limited area, the team can work toward opening a larger footprint and creating a stronger foundation for the rest of the season.
It is a major behind-the-scenes project, but the result is something that we can all appreciate, more skiing and snowboarding!
