We’re excited to report the emergence of corn on our slopes. The temperature hovered close to freezing last night. As a result, ice formation was largely inhibited and we have some great spring conditions on the mountain. Bear in mind that certain wind affected slopes and the upper mountain are more susceptible to overnight freezing and icy conditions. With that being said, temperatures in the 40s today should soften up all but the most shaded slopes by the afternoon. Wind will be very calm today. That fun continues on chair 3 – Blackfoot – until 9 PM tonight during night ski. Open Snow’s 10 day forecast is now showing 6″ – down from 10″ yesterday; the extended 11-15 day forecast is showing another 17″ for a total of 23″ in the upcoming 15 days! I thoroughly enjoy spring skiing and am grateful to be able to do it in February. The best part about this cycle of warmer skiing is after it we are looking a quite a large storm cycle.
